Recovery Of Ali

I have started this blog to allow those that are concerned for my dad to find out what is going on without inundating friends and colleagues with questions. So first I am going to start with what has happened from Sunday the 7th.

On Sunday morning My Dad and Theresa along with A couple of friends went for a short motorcycle ride into the mountains. On their way up highway 24 there was some gravel in the road on a turn. as my dad was going into the turn he began to loose control of the bike. He was regaining control when he ran out of room. He broke his left leg in a compound fracture, broke his jaw, and suffered a closed head injury. He was wearing a helmet. He was transported to memorial hospital where the gave him the best emergency care that they could. His progress was slow at memorial hospital, so we moved him to Denver. Now he is at University of Colorado Hospital, they have an excellent facility and the best doctors. They are going to be very aggressive about his treatment there.

We are asking that he not receive any visitors at this time. His rest is the most important thing that we can hope for.

Right now they have him on an EEG, this machine monitors brain waves
He is on a breathing machine, but he is over breathing it so it is just a precaution
He is on some serious pain killers and sedatives right now.

His new doctor is also very hopeful of my dads recovery. He says on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the worst my dad is a 3.

Thanks to everyone who is praying for him, he still needs more

Glad to hear it, please keep up the posts. I wanted to send flowers but his room won't allow it at this time.
